1) Which are the types of masks?
The masks can be: Filter Masks, Surgical or Medical Masks or Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). The request for decorative printing mainly concerns the former.
2) Filter masks: what are they and how should they be considered?
Filter masks are neither a medical device nor an individual protection device, they are mainly made of non-woven fabric (TNT). The manufacturer / printer is responsible for granting that the materials used in their production and decoration do not contain or release substances harmful to human health.
3) Which are the standards governing the printing of filter masks?
Since, at the best of our current knowledge, there are no specific standards about decoration, the printing of filter masks refers to that of any fabric. They are therefore subject to global textile standards and their indications regarding the permitted chemical levels.
